Having worked in retail for nearly a decade, I became infatuated with disturbing fast fashion trends, limited color + pattern selections and advertising that big box stores use to dictate style. I began to question if my clothing taste was my own or had been spoon fed to me since childhood. This love/hate relationship with mall display fashion inspired this series of soft sculptures to create my own outfits, adorned with bright, cheap fabrics and cording that I’ve always been drawn to.
